Apart from providing care to the aged, Chiranthana also serves people suffering from cancer, parkinsons, muscular distrophy, paralysis and the physically challenged in its Home for Geriatric Health Care.
Taking care of the aged and disabled is not the only objective of Chiranthana. The trust also aims at creating awareness among the public .
In this regard, the institution has taken up many social service activities.
A few of them can be cited here -
Ambulatory Devices
Chiranthana has initiated an outreach program, offering ambulatory devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, walking sticks, water beds, backrests and elevator cots with side railings to patients in need.
Devices such as Oxygen Concentrators have been added to this list.
These devices are provided FREE OF COST on a temporary basis for use and subsequent return.

Medical Camps
Chiranthana organises Medical Camps at various places in the district in association with supporting Hospitals and other social service organisations.
These camps are organised free of cost to the general public and people from all around make use of these facilities




Memory Check- up Camps
Chiranthana, has been organising Memory check up camps for the residents in order to control Dementia in the old age.
Dr. Srinivas Bhat, Dr. Sathish Rao and Dr. Anish Bhat from K.S Hegde Hospital, have helped as resource persons in the camps



Free Public Eye Camp

Chiranthana has organised a free eye camp at Surathkal, for the public as well as for the residents of Chiranthana.
It was organised in collaboration with the Association for the Blind, Dakshina Kannada.

Helping the Children suffering from Cancer

Chiranthana helped 6 children from poor socio-economic background with Rs. 10,000 to Rs 20,000
for the treatment of Cancer.
This project is done in collaboration with Mr. Stimpfig from Germany.
